September DIY Workshop: A Perfectly Painted Sign Painting Party

We started a new DIY workshop series that is part community engagement, part showcase for local businesses and organizations, and part fundraiser. The goal is to bring people together with fun and creative projects.

Our first DIY workshop was in partnership with Perfectly Painted Sign Painting Parties, which was started by Kimberly, a hairdresser turned entrepreneur. Before heading to the ReStore to paint their signs, each of our 12 participants was able to choose their unique cut of wood and select a phrase and font for their personalized vinyl cutout. On a sunny Saturday morning, everyone gathered in the ReStore parking lot to paint, stipple, and distress their signs.

Kimberly was kind enough to donate her time and expertise. The participants paid a discounted rate to cover the supplies and donate to Habitat for Humanity of McLean County!
