Habitat for Humanity of McLean County is renovating and expanding the Bloomington ReStore!
The ReStore ReNewal project will expand the Habitat ReStore to approximately 20,000 total square feet. This expansion is a $1 million investment into the West Bloomington community. We are excited to continue adding appeal, foot traffic, and money from local sales to the neighborhood and are confident the ReStore ReNewal will spur continued community action to renew this vibrant part of town.
The increased retail space will allow the ReStore to sell more merchandise, resulting in higher proceeds and more funding given back to Habitat for Humanity of McLean County. Within the first five years of operation after the ReNewal, we expect ReStore proceeds to cover 100% of Habitat McLean County’s administrative costs and increase the number of homes built annually.
Other features of the project include:
- Streamlined donation drop-off process with covered donation drive through
- Increased number of parking spaces
- Improved visibility from Washington Street with demolition of two decrepit buildings
- Expanded, modernized retail space for easier shopping
Although construction is altering our operations slightly, we are dedicated to remaining open during our renovation to continue serving our community. Here's a view of some of the progress we've made.
