In December we wanted to bring ReStore supporters a Double DIY Day featuring two different community partners.
In the morning we did a tile art workshop with Threshold To Hope, Inc. We took small ReStore tiles, drew on them with bright Sharpies, then sprayed them with alcohol until the colors swirled, spotted, and spread to the artists' liking. We locked in the color with sealant and the tile became a new decoration or coaster to bring home.
This project was fun, easy, and therapeutic. The proceeds benefitted both Threshold to Hope and Habitat for Humanity of McLean County.
In the afternoon, we did an essential oil toiletry workshop, which was the perfect excuse to add a little pamper time to this holiday season. Our novice chemists made an all-natural and personalized hand soap, body scrub, and lip balm. We'd like to send a special thank you to Wellness Expert and Nurse, Monika Busick, for leading the workshop and donating the supplies. All monetary donations from the workshop went to support Habitat for Humanity of McLean County.
